Newcastle 10K January 23, 2027
The Newcastle 10K takes place on 23 January 2027 along the Newcastle Quayside in Newcastle upon Tyne. The event is delivered by RunThrough in partnership with Gateshead Harriers and is scheduled to include full road closures and an expected field of over 3,000 runners.
The course is a flat out and back route along the Quayside. It passes beneath the Swing Bridge, High Level Bridge, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, King Edward VII Bridge and Redheugh Bridge, and offers views of the Tyne Bridge, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, the Glasshouse and the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, finishing with a backdrop of the Millennium Bridge. The advertised race distance is 10 km.
Entries include a themed medal, free race photos, chip-timed results and post race goodies. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags and marshals are positioned along the route to guide and support runners. An event village provides food and drink options and partner giveaways.
The Newcastle 10K forms part of the Top Flight Race Series and is noted to attract leading UK athletes. Organisers state that sustainability is a priority for their events.
