Bowland Trail Half 2027
The Bowland Trail Half is a fun, unmarked mixed-terrain race in Slaidburn, UK, taking place on Saturday, January 9, 2027. This event is the 'little sibling' of the Bowland Ultra and covers approximately 13 miles with 2,000 feet of ascent, offering a challenging yet exciting experience for runners of all calibres. The course includes fast vehicle tracks, flowing trails, road sections, and boggy climbs, all designed for enjoyment. Runners will be guided by a written route description and a map, with marshals at key points.
Raising money for local foodbanks, this January event requires participants to be prepared for potentially challenging conditions such as rain, ice, snow, and high winds. A mandatory kit list is in effect for safety. The race starts at 10:00 AM, with registration open from 08:15 AM to 09:30 AM. A mandatory race briefing will be held at 09:45 AM in the village hall.
The route starts and finishes in Slaidburn, gateway to the Forest of Bowland. Participants will receive a finish line meal and a memento. Refunds and transfers are possible until November 1st (minus admin fees), with partial refunds available until December 1st. After December 1st, no refunds are offered, but transfers to another runner are allowed (with admin fees). No changes can be made to the entry list after January 1st. Race insurance is recommended via a third-party provider during entry.
