Waddington Fell Race 2026
The Waddington Fell Race 2026 takes place on Sunday, September 27th, starting at 2:00 PM. This is a category BM fell race covering 11.3 km (7 miles) with 415 meters (1,362 ft) of ascent.
Entry Fee: £5 on the day.
Registration: Held from 12:15 PM to 1:45 PM at Waddington Village Club, Clitheroe Road, BB7 3HW. Bags can be left at the club at the owner’s risk. Toilets are available.
Parking: Limited parking is available in the village. Please car share if possible. Free public parking is available on Twitter Lane and opposite the school on West Bradford Road. Competitors are asked to park considerately.
Race Kit: A waterproof top is mandatory. Full FRA race kit may be required depending on weather conditions, including waterproof top and bottoms, hat, gloves, emergency food, whistle, map, and compass.
Start: The race starts at 2:00 PM (GR724437), a short walk from the club. Marshals will direct runners. Please arrive in plenty of time for a debrief and head count beforehand.
Cut Off: There is a cut-off point at the track at the top of Summit House Farm (GR712465) at 45 minutes (approx. 2.4 miles/3.86 km & 750 ft/228 m). Runners not reaching this point by the specified time will be asked to return to the club.
Check Point: One check point is located at the trig point on Waddington Fell (GR715475). Numbers must be displayed clearly for marshals.
Mountain Rescue: Will be present on the day, and any surplus funds will be donated to them.
Prizegiving: Held at the Village Club. Awards for first male and female, all age categories (U23, M/F40 to M/F80), and teams of three. Please remove muddy shoes before entering the club. The club has a licensed bar.
