The Big Loop 2027
That was fun, we’ll do it again! That’s right, we’ve ramped up our Sherwood Pines venue for something bigger and longer in 2027. An extended 10-mile loop around the Sherwood Pines forest, where you can take on a multitude of distances solo or as a team.
We’ll have our HQ set up for camping over the event as well as a communal base, with our usual food truck, communal area for crew and supporters and more support than you can shake a stick at!
You can view the route here: Sherwood Pines Route.

Event FAQs
- Can I camp overnight? Yes, you’ll be able to camp overnight from the Friday night until you have finished running. The site will be open for you from 5pm on Friday, 5th Feb.
- Can our team set up a team camp? Yes, we will have ample space for camping, but please be considerate with your campsite size. Team camps are encouraged, but please be sensible and considerate with what you bring.
- Will there be refreshments available? Yes, we will have our aid station available to all runners along with hot and cold water and squash. Food items will be limited so please only use them in supplement to your own supplies.
- Can we cook our own food? In short, yes you can. But, due to the rules in our event permit, you may only cook items in the designated camp stove area, and these stoves cannot be solid fuel stoves. Anyone caught using their campstoves outside of the designated area will be disqualified and asked to leave the venue.
- I can't bring my own shelter, what can i do? We will have a small marquee available for everyone to use, with a dedicated solo runners area. Space in here is first-come first first-served.
- Does each team runner have to run the same amount? No, as long as every runner in the team has run one lap then you’re all good. It is up to your team to decide on the order that you run in, although we would recommend rotating a lap each to keep the team spirit high!
- Are there any time limits? Whilst we don’t have any time limits in place for any of the distances, this doesn’t mean you can pop home for 6 hours for a nap and a Sunday Roast. As long as you’re still actively covering your distance, then it does not matter if you’re still running on Monday morning.
- What are the start times? All distances should start at 10:30am on Saturday 6th Feb.
- Where can I park my vehicle? We include parking for runners within our HQ, although this is capped at two vehicles. Solo runners are permitted one vehicle in our HQ and teams of any size are permitted two vehicles at the HQ. Any extra will have to park in the main forest paid car park.
- What is the route? You can expect 10 miles of beautiful trails right through the heart of the pines exploring new areas of oak and wildflower. A mix of single track running and wider gravel access roads with limited elevation. Route details here.
- Will there be medics? We will have medics available throughout the event, day and night.
