Flyathlon 2026 - Red Deer
The Flyathlon is a unique multi-sport event combining trail running, fishing and craft beer in Red Deer, Alberta. The race will start at Canada 150 place. Finishers and spectators will finish at the Troubled Monk, a local full craft beverage company. Total route distance is 5km.
Flyathletes will run with their rods and gear along the trail and decide when to stop to cast and hopefully catch a fish! Be sure to record species and estimated size for a chance to win prizes! Once you have successfully caught and released your fish and completed the route, you will finish the race with a nice, cold beverage. Helpful "fish whisperers" volunteers will be available along the route to help you out.
The race will begin at 1 pm MT. Registration is $100, and Flyathletes are required to fundraise a minimum of $250. Prizes will be provided to the top fundraisers, top course finishers, smallest and largest fish caught, and more. Flyathletes are provided a race tee, one drink ticket, food and a $50 tax receipt for signing up!
