Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra - 29 to 30 August 2026
The Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra is an endurance running event held over a weekend in late August. The format requires each participant to run 4.167 miles every hour on the hour and complete each circuit in under 60 minutes. Any time remaining in the hour is typically used for recovery before the next circuit. Runners continue hourly circuits until only one participant remains; that last runner is declared the winner.
The event is presented as a personal endurance challenge that lets participants test how many laps they can complete. Camping is included with entry and is available from Friday 29 August to Sunday 31 August or until the event finishes. The minimum age to enter is 18. The listed entry fee is £95 and entries are managed through SiEntries, with defined open and close dates on the event listing.
The organiser is Bowel Cancer West and entry income is directed to support people living with bowel cancer and to fund research and training. The event provides accessibility features such as an accessible toilet and sanitary bins that are stoma friendly. A complimentary hair plaiting service is offered on site, with donations to the charity welcome. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
