About the race
The Strandloop Knokke-Heist is a unique beach run that runs entirely along the low tide line. The beach run offers you a unique opportunity to enjoy the local skyline with friends or family and fill your lungs with healthy sea air. The low registration fee and the summery character make the beach run a real family sports event. You can choose from 2 km (kids up to 12 years old), 5 or 10 km. The 2 km starts at 6:45 PM, the 5 & 10 km start together at 7:30 PM. The start and finish are located at the sports beach of Heist (Zeedijk near Kardinaal Mercierstraat).
Registrations
Pre-registration with automatic payment costs only 3 euros for the 5 & 10 km and 2 euros for 2 km. This is possible from March 1st up to and including Tuesday, July 7th at a reduced rate. From Wednesday, July 8th, you can register your entry via this page at the day rate (5 euros for the 5 & 10 km and 3 euros for 2 km). By registering in advance, you can avoid queues on the day and easily collect your material from 6 PM on site. Day registrations are also possible from then on. Included in the registration fee are electronic timing (5 & 10 km), insurance, a bib, a final supply, and a souvenir. Every participant is obliged to wear the received bib on their chest. The back of this bib provides space to fill in personal details. We advise everyone to do this. This way, emergency services can act more quickly and efficiently in the event of a medical problem.
Course
The Strandloop Knokke-Heist starts on the beach near the sports beach of Heist. Participants in the 2 km run 500 m towards Knokke and return to the sports beach. They run this route twice. The participants in the 5 & 10 km start towards Knokke. Participants in the 5 km take a turnaround point at the casino near Sterrenlaan. The 10 km continues towards Het Zoute and has a turnaround point at the Wielingen.
Miscellaneous
The organization provides reusable cups at both turnaround points of the 5 and 10 km and the final supply. A participant may bring their own drinking cup and can refill it with water at the turnaround points of the 5 and 10 km. When collecting the bib at the race office, there is an option to purchase a reusable folding cup (€3). At the race office, changing rooms and a free cloakroom are provided. It is possible to shower in the nearby sports hall Laguna, Krommedijk 32 in Heist. The first 3 in the 5 & 10 km will be honored. No prize money is provided. Every year we also welcome a number of people with a disability. Do you know someone who qualifies for this? Be sure to contact us so we can look at the possibilities together.
