This event will kick off at Marine Road, Prestatyn, LL19. Prepare to embark on an unforgettable journey along Offa’s Dyke Path (National trail), traversing the length of the Wales and finishing in Chepstow (Sedbury Cliffs).
Throughout the challenge, you'll be experiencing breathtaking views and traverse rolling hills, while conquering rugged terrain. This is an opportunity to push your limits, connect with fellow trekkers, and create lasting memories.
What is Endurance trekking?
Endurance trekking is a newly formatted endurance sport, participants aim to trek long distances whilst carrying all the equipment you need to sustain yourself for 24hrs. Inc tent, sleeping bag, clothes and food.
Fully supported
All treks are fully supported by the Endurotrek team with regular check points and pre designated campsites with amenities at the end of each days eventing. This is a challenging event, a good level of fitness is required
Whats the challenge?
This first of its kind challenge is to traverse the length of Wales from Prestatyn in the North to Chepstow (Sedbury Cliffs) in the South over 8 days of trekking
Is it a race?
The Offa's Dyke multi-day event, is a challenge. There is no official winner, the completion of the challenge in itself is the win. However daily prizes will be given to the first 3 to cross the finish line each day
Challenge objective
Your aim will be to be as self sufficient as possible, carrying all kit and equipment you'll need for the day ahead inc: Camping equipment, clothes, food and water
Do I have to carry my equipment/backpack?
Carrying your equipment is optional. Alternatively you can use our baggage transfer service and have your equipment i.e tent, sleeping bag, additional clothing transported to the next campsite each day
Is the route sign-posted?
The Offa's Dyke path is a national trail (One of 16 across the UK). It is way-marked and sign posted throughout. Additionally you will pass through checkpoints and our team will be at designated places along the route. (See route and daily finish points in the Agenda section)
Where will I stay?
Every evening will be spent at a campsite along the route, offering warm showers, washing facilities, toilets, food, refreshments and camping pitches
How will I be supported?
Our support team will be staffing checkpoints along the entire route, with first aid stations and drinks/snacks available at all checkpoints. At the end of each day, a designated campsite will provide the location to rest and recover before the next days eventing
Is food and drink included?
All of your daily food/drinks from; Breakfast, (Packed)Lunch & Dinner (Themed evenings) BBQ, British, Indian, Italian, Mexican. (Vegetarian and Vegan options available) Additionally all drinks, water, juice (Finish line beer) Is all catered for and provided within your event sign up fee. Additional alcoholic beverages and snacks available to purchase
Will there be checkpoints?
Every 5-7 miles (Around 10k) there will be staffed checkpoints, offering medical care, light snacks and refreshments
Do I need to pay for anything extra on the challenge?
Once on the challenge all breakfast, (packed) lunch and dinner is provided for the entire 8 days. You may however wish to bring additional funds for pit stops along the way, shops, pubs etc
What will I get for completing the challenge?
All 8 day eventers receive a race t-shirt, medal and race goodie-bag
