Lakeland Paws: Dogs@Dodd Double Header
The first event in the finale weekend of the fifth Lakeland Paws series takes place in Dodd Wood. The course is fully marked and runs on a mix of forest roads and trails with views across Bassenthwaite lake to the Northern Fells. Individual starts are used so dogs have space to start safely.
There are two course options:
- 8K loop, 370 m ascent
- 5K route, 210 m ascent
Most of the route follows wide trails, so two dogs per runner are permitted in general, but some sections are narrower and the final descent is relatively steep. Dogs must be run on a suitable harness; harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear. Runners may compete without dogs.
The event is chip timed and will be marked. GPX files are available to download. This event is part of a Double Header and the finale weekend of the fifth season of canicross races that also include Whinlatter Forest and Grizedale Forest.
