Borrowdale Trail Half Marathon
The Borrowdale Trail Half Marathon is a trail running event based in Keswick with a distance of 21k. Registration and race numbers are issued at the event HQ at Crow Park, Lake Road, Keswick CA12 5DJ. The event starts near Lingholm CA12 5TZ and finishes at Crow Park; the start and finish locations are not the same. Camping and overnight parking at the venue are not permitted.
The route mixes lakeshore trails, hard packed rocky sections, grassy tracks and woodland singletrack. Total ascent on the 21k course is 550 m and a four hour time limit applies. The course is fully marked so no navigation skills are required. Key locations on the route include Castle Crag, Surprise View, Ashness Bridge, Great Wood, Friar's Crag and the hamlets of Grange, Rosthwaite and Watendlath.
Included with entry are event organisation, safety team cover with checkpoint personnel, qualified medical support, electronic chip timing, marked routes, a hydration station on course and at the finish, a finishers medal and a customised race number.
