Granny's Bay Challenge
Back for its 6th year, the Granny's Bay Challenge is a regular event for many runners, taking place in the beautiful seaside town of Lytham.

Location: Fylde Spitfire Memorial, Inner Promenade, Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire, FY8 1EQ
Course: 5.24 mile out & back / loop. Participants can complete as many or as few laps as they wish within the 6-hour time limit. The time limit is a maximum, not a target.
The course is on a flat tarmac path along the Ribble estuary. Starting at the Fylde Spitfire Memorial, runners will join the new coast path before passing Fairhaven Lake. The path will lead you past Granny's Bay and onto Lytham Green, offering views of Lytham windmill and across the estuary towards Southport and North Wales. The turn-around point is at the end of Lytham Green, returning to the Spitfire Memorial.
Distance Options:
- Marathon distance requires five laps.
- Half marathon requires two full laps and a 2.62 mile loop.
- A minimum of one lap completion will result in an official time and a finisher medal.
Age Limits: All participants must be over 18. Runners aged 18-19 have a maximum distance of a marathon. Runners aged 20 and over have no maximum distance.
The event will be held under UK Athletics rules. Trail Running Association Race Permit Number: TBA.
