Avalon Beach Classic - A Day of Fun for Everyone!
Come join us for a fun family day of running and walking to support those in need in our community. We have a distance that is right for everyone. Participants can choose a 5K run or 2 mile walk on the beach. The event is chipped timed by DQ Events. You will be running down by the water edge in packed hard sand.
Giveaways: The first 300 registered runners receive BALEGA SOCKS! Youth runners receive a FLEECE CREW (limited sizes/quantities, first registered get first pick; alternatives available if fleece runs out).
Races & Details:
- Beach Classic 5K Run: Awards for TOP 3 male and female overall and age group winners (10-year groups). Turn around at 60th Street.
- Beach Classic 2 Mile Walk: Turn around at 49th Street.
- BEACH CLASSIC 2K FUN RUN: For youth ages 11-15 (turn around at 42nd Street). Medals to all finishers. Awards for top 5 male and female in each age group (8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15).
- BEACH CLASSIC 1K FUN RUN: For youth ages 10 and under (turn around at 36th Street). Medals to all finishers. Awards for top 5 male and female in each age group.
Special Contests:
- FASTEST FAMILY: FREE! Mom or Dad (one parent) in the 5K teams up with one child in the 2K or 1K RUN.
- FASTEST FAMILY (5K): Any pair of immediate family members both running in the 5K. Top 3 lowest combined times win a prize for each distance category.
Charity Support: Proceeds benefit the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children in Avalon. 100% of your donation goes to fund their programs.
Registration & Pick-up: ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY. Race day pick-up: 6:15 AM - 7:45 AM inside Community Hall, 3001 Avalon Avenue, Avalon, NJ 08202.
Important Notes: There is NOT a water aid station on the course.
