Plogging refers to the act of picking up trash while running. The expression stems from the Swedish term 'plocka upp' meaning 'to pick up' and is combined with the English term 'jogging'.
About the Event
Join us on Saturday, March 16th at 11:30am for a 3-mile plog led by NYRR Coaches, Staff, and Tina Muir, elite marathoner and climate activist. This activity will introduce new movements into your run while helping clean up our planet. It's perfect to do as a pre-race shakeout! Let's raise the incredible 39-person attendance we had for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon*!
No plogging experience is required, and runners of all paces are welcomed. NYRR will provide compostable bags and gloves to all registered ploggers. Restrooms and lockers (on a first come, first serve basis) will be available. We will be plogging rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
