XC triathlon DACHSMAN
The XC triathlon DACHSMAN will take place in Kunratice u Cvikova on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The event name is inspired by the dominant feature of the race location, JEZEVČÍ VRCH (Badger Hill), which was considered for the cycling part of the race. In the local dialect of people who shaped this region with care, 'jezevec' (badger) is 'der DACHS'.
The Lusatian Mountains are a beautiful and a passion for us. Near the villages of Kunratice u Cvikova and Drnovec, there is a perhaps slightly overlooked, but truly beautiful piece of land, perfect for a triathlon in nature. The area of Horní rybník (Upper Pond) invites brisk paces for its swimming portion. The cycling course, after less than a kilometer of asphalt road, turns right onto a forest path leading to a gradually tightening climb to Zelený vrch (Green Hill), which can severely test the lungs and leg strength of everyone across the entire starting field. After conquering it, the route gradually descends via a unique single-track descent called "Kitzbühel" through an old gully between rocks, then across a meadow and again uphill between rocks and again down the gully, where unfortunately, in that speed, you won't notice that between Drnovec and Kunratice you are passing a mysterious and beautiful chapel carved into the rock.
