What is a Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk?
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! This is a 5K (3.1 miles). You are welcome to walk or run this event.
Registration and Event Details:
- Day of Race Registration: Opens at 8:00 a.m.
- Online Registration Closes: August 13, 2026.
- Packet Pickup: Designated times at Fawn Lake Forest Association Clubhouse, 112 Bay Center Circle, Hawley, PA 18428.
- Parking: Available. Arrive early.
- Bib Number: Must be displayed on the front of your outermost garment.
- Front Corral: For runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile.
- Water: Available along the route and at the finish.
- Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
- Not Permitted: Bicycles, roller blades, and pets are not permitted on the course. Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
Event Timeline:
- 8:00 a.m.: Registration and packet pickup begin.
- 9:00 a.m.: Opening ceremony begins.
- 9:30 a.m.: 5K run/walk begins.
- Post-Race: Kids Fun Run, awards, closing ceremony, and a free barbecue.
Awards:
Age group awards will be given to fastest overall male/female finishers, top male and female finishers in each age category, fastest male/female first responders in gear, youngest male/female, and fastest male/female walkers.
