About the Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk
The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series honors the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001, after running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. This event supports our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices.

Event Details:
- Distance: 5K (3.1 miles)
- Participation: You are welcome to walk or run.
- Day-of Registration: Available from 7:00 a.m. on race day.
- Host Hotel: Courtyard by Marriot, 5 Westbank Expressway, Gretna, LA 70053. Use code T2T for event rate.
- Online Registration Closes: October 27, 2026.
- Timed Event: No, this event will not be timed.
- Parking & Transportation: Ample parking at the finish area. Buses provide transportation to the start area from 7:00 to 8:30 AM.
- Bib Number: Must be displayed on the front of your outermost garment.
- Front Corral: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 min/mile will be seeded in the front corral.
- Water Stations: Available along the route and at the finish.
- Permitted Items: Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted.
- Prohibited Items: Bicycles, roller blades, and pets are not permitted on the course.
- Packet Pickup: October 29, 30, and 31 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Rivershack Restaurant, 714 First Street, Gretna. Also available on race day at the finish line.
- Donations: Accepted for 6 weeks after the event. Contact [email protected] for sponsorship, goods/services, or cash donations.
- Fundraising: Participants can start their own fundraising page online.
- Registration Fee: Helps offset event expenses and does not count towards fundraising goals.
- Event Festivities: Located by the finish line at the Gretna ferry landing.
