About the Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series
The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

This will be the inaugural Tunnel to Towers event here in Hernando, MS and we are excited to bring our community together to honor first responders, our servicemen and servicewomen, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.
Event Details
- Distance: 5K (3.1 miles)
- Can run or walk: Yes, anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.
- Packet Pickup: Onsite at the park the day of the event, and possibly at a location TBD.
- Day-of Registration: Yes, registration opens at 7 am. Shirts and sizes not guaranteed for late registrants.
- Online Registration: Closes after the event. Prices increase closer to event day.
- Bib Number: Must be displayed on the front of your outermost garment.
- Fast Runners: Encouraged to move to the front corral for paces faster than 6 minute/mile.
- Awards: Yes, the event will be timed. Awards are simple and often based on firefighters, police, or military running in gear.
- Water: Available along the route and at the start/finish line.
- Permitted Items: Strollers, wheelchairs, firefighter turnout gear, and military backpacks are permitted.
- Prohibited Items: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
- Donations: Registration fee does not count towards fundraising goal. Donations accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

- Medical Staff: Yes, an Emergency Medical Service team will be available on-site with radio communication on the course.
