Trofeo Kima
The Trofeo Kima will take place in Val Masino, Sondrio, on Saturday, August 22, 2026. This event is a highlight for skyrunners, offering a 52 km extremely technical course that winds over seven passes with a total elevation gain of 8,400m. The route includes moraines, snowfields, and exposed ridges, with fixed ropes at key points for participant safety.
The 2026 edition will be a stage of the Merrel Skyrunner® World Series. The race is scheduled for Saturday, with a potential recovery day on Sunday in case of bad weather.
Since 2008, the event has been held biennially. In 2022, the race was won by Finlay Wild of Scotland in 6h05’54” and by American Hillary Gerardi with a record time of 7h30’38”.
Considered an icon of skyrunning since 1995, the race attracts top national and international runners. For safety reasons, the number of participants will be limited to 400. According to the organizing committee, this limitation is due to the trail's difficulty and strict Italian regulations, ensuring a safe and well-organized race.
Kilian Jornet, a four-time winner, describes the Trofeo Kima as “the most spectacular race in the world.”
