Tiergartenlauf Velen

The Tiergartenlauf Velen will take place in Velen on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Preparations for the 18th edition are underway, with online registration opening in early February. The event plans to offer 11 races suitable for all ages and fitness levels, including a Mini-Marathon, various school runs (1.4 km, 2.5 km), and main races of 5 km, 10 km, and a half marathon. A 7.5 km (Nordic) Walking option is also available. A highlight is the relay race for families and friends, with teams of 4 running 1400m each.

Proceeds will be donated to "Horizont - Kinderkrebshilfe Weseke" and other charities. The start and finish line is at Gesamtschule Velen, An der krummen Mauer 5.

Awards

• Certificates for all participants.
• Age group rankings on certificates.
• Medals for the top 3 in each category.
• Mini-Marathon: no timing, participation certificate only.

Travel

The event venue is located near SportSchloss Velen. Parking is signposted.

Start Fees

Late registration incurs an additional 2€ fee. Payment on the event day is by cash only.

The running routes lead through the Tiergarten. A diverse supporting program for young and old is provided.
