The Yomp - Out of Eden 5k
The Out of Eden 5k is a family and dog-friendly event on 14 June 2026, held as part of the YOMP Mountain Challenge weekend in the Upper Eden area around Kirkby Stephen and Mallerstang in East Cumbria. The route is low level and follows sections of Stenkrith Park and the Viaduct Walk, including the Millennium Bridge over Stenkrith waterfall and the Merrygill and Podgill viaducts. The course is not suitable for pushchairs.
Dogs may take part provided they are kept on a lead. Entry costs £5 per person and children under five take part free. Entries are available on the day.
All weekend events start and finish at Basecamp at The Engine Shed in Kirkby Stephen. The YOMP weekend includes multiple other events across three days, live music, talks, catering, retail and a bar. Camping is available for all.
Starting with an energetic warm up by Anthea at Basecamp, the route takes in the breathtaking Millenium Bridge over Stenkrith waterfall and the stunning Merrygill and Podgill viaducts.
Registration opens at 9:00am. The event starts at 11:00am. Please arrive in plenty of time to register.
