The Whitworth Thread
The Whitworth Thread is a regular timed run organised by Matlock Athletic Club in Whitworth Park, Darley Dale, Matlock. The course covers 5 km and is completed by running three laps of the park route. The meeting point is by the monument at the top of Whitworth Park.
The event is scheduled on the second Saturday of each month. The club records times for participants at the organised Thread. There is also the option to run a Loose Thread, which follows the same course but takes place without the officiating and timing provided at the organised event. The description uses the event name Thread to distinguish the timed, club-run version from the informal Loose Thread. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
