The Saltmarsh Ultra
The Saltmarsh Ultra is a coastal ultramarathon along the Essex Saltmarsh coastline. The event covers 50 miles, beginning at South Woodham Ferrers Rugby Club in Chelmsford and finishing at Maldon Promenade Park. The organiser is Hare and Tortoise Running.
The event is fully supported with aid stations and checkpoints at regular intervals. The route will be marked by coastal path finger posts; written instructions will be provided and a GPX file will be available for download nearer the event. The event operates a cupless policy, so participants should bring a container for drinks. A shuttle option is offered to transfer runners from the finish back to the start; this service must be booked and paid for during registration.
Finishers receive a bespoke medal, a goody bag and a finisher t-shirt. The published cut off time for the event is 15 hours.
