Welcome to The Ruff, the only race that runs up Dog Mountain! Get ready to challenge your lungs by running straight up
- 3 miles (3000ft elevation) to the summit of Dog Mountain
- 4 miles to bomb down to the finish
Enjoy beautiful views of the Columbia River, Mt. Hood, and Mt. St. Helens along the way!
BIB PICKUP: 8 AM on the day of the race at Dog Mtn Trailhead. Please carpool if possible due to limited parking.
COURSE: The race starts and finishes at Dog Mountain Trailhead. The 7-mile course is entirely on single-track trails, taking you up the Dog Mountain Trail and down Augspurger Trail.
AWARDS: The top 3 male and female finishers will receive an award. The first male and female overall will win a free pair of Altra trail shoes! There are also special awards for the King/Queen of the Mountain and the fastest downhill times.
FOOD and DRINKS: Complimentary lunch provided for all racers, and beer from Ninkasi Brewing Company!
IMPORTANT NOTE: No dogs are allowed in the race.
This event is sanctioned under a special use permit in partnership with the US Forest Service, Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
