THE LAP - Windermere Ultra Anticlockwise
THE LAP - Anticlockwise is a fully signposted 47 mile trail ultra that circumnavigates Lake Windermere. The course is low level for the Lake District and follows predominantly tracks, trail and single track, with some steeper fell paths and occasional short sections of quiet country road.
Entrants have a 24 hour time limit to complete the route. The event provides GPS support including a tracker, a map and GPX files. Route marking is extensive with 2,500 arrows. There are five fully stocked feed stations and a halfway aid station with a bag drop. A finisher meal is provided to all finishers and a locally sourced finisher medal is awarded.
The event is open to runners and walkers and has a minimum age of 16 on the event date. The entry fee is listed as £135. The stated event base is Low Cunsey Farm near Ambleside in Cumbria. The organiser supplies a recce GPX and a final GPX with special permissive routes ahead of the event.
