The Cold Norton Charity Summer 10K & Half Marathon Trail Event 2026
Join us for our summer charity trail running event on 9th August 2026, raising funds for Farleigh Hospice.
Event Address: Bencott, Newport Avenue, Cold Norton, Essex CM3 6NR. (This is off of Fambridge Road between Cold Norton & North Fambridge.) What3words location: tickles.options.rural
Routes Available:
- 10 km
- 13.1 miles (half marathon)
Both routes run mainly on grass, tracks and paths through the beautiful countryside around Cold Norton and nearby villages. These are unmarked, narrative routes where you will be given written instructions to follow (there will be a few bits of tape to help you in trickier places!).
Event Schedule & Logistics:
- Start Times: Staggered start between 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM. Parking opens at 8:00 AM.
- Registration: Come to the registration desk when ready to run. You will receive written instructions and your number.
- Timing: Timed in and out, but not chip timed.
- Aid Stations: Present, but this is a cupless event. Participants must carry their own cup or drink bottle.
- COVID-19: Event will be run with current restrictions.
- Dogs: Not permitted.
Refreshments & Facilities:
Refreshments at the finish include hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes (voluntary donations welcome). Facilities include ample parking, toilets, and handwashing.
Entry Fees:
- 10 km: £14
- Half Marathon: £20
- Optional Finishers Medal: £3.20
- Entry Central booking fee: 50p or 4% (whichever is greater).
All proceeds go to Farleigh Hospice. No refunds or deferrals; your entry fee will still be donated.
Entries close on 31st July 2026. Total places limited to 120.

Farleigh Hospice provides care and support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses. Approximately 40% of our yearly running costs are funded by the local NHS, and we rely on community contributions to meet our daily running costs.
