Tempo Trail Races
Tempo Trail Races is a one day trail running event in the Cotswolds on Sunday 2 May 2027 offering six race distances and a relay option.

The Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K start and finish at Ilmington. The 50KM is a point to point route from Ilmington to Hailes. The relay covers the full 100KM route with one runner completing the outward leg and the second runner the return leg. The 100KM option can be completed in one go or stopped at the halfway point; cut off points are located at the halfway mark and at Blockley and a lift back to the start will be provided if required.
All races except the 10K have feed stations. The 100KM route has stations at Mickleton, Broadway, Hayles Fruit Farm, Ford, Blockley, Aston Magna and Ebrington. A baggage drop is available at Ilmington and ultra runners can leave kit for the Hayles halfway point.
Entry is by online booking only and places are limited. Prices vary by distance. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers for each distance on gun time. Trackers are provided for the 50KM and 100KM races. Bone conduction headphones are the only approved headphone type on course.
Suggested kit for the longer races includes trail footwear, at least one litre of water at the start, nutrition, waterproofs, map, tracker, headlamp and a basic first aid kit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

100K Ultra - 2 May 2027
Come and join us for this 100K Ultra. Complete in one go on Sunday 3rd May or stop at halfway if you don’t want to do the full distance. (there is a cut off at halfway for this event).
Race start 6:30am
Cut off rules
There is a cut off at halfway (31 miles) at 2.30pm and a second cut off from Blockley (47.5 miles) at 6:50pm. In both circumstances a lift back to the start/finish will be provided unless you have your own lift. The average pace you need to stick to so you’re inside the cut offs is 15:58 minute miles 9:55 kilometres per hour.
50K Ultra - 2 May 2027
The 50KM Race option was a popular choice in 2026 and is back again for 2027. Complete Half the full 100K Ultra, from Ilmington to Hailes.
Race start 6:30am
As this is a point to point race anyone who hasn’t arranged a lift from Hailes can get the coach back which will leave at approximately 4pm.
100KM Ultra Relay - 2 May 2027
Complete 100KM in total in pairs. Teams of two can come together and combine to complete the entire 100KM route. One runner will start from Ilmington and complete the section to Hailes and then pass the (imaginary) baton to the second runner who will do the return journey (via Wincombe, Ford, Blockely, Aston Magna and back to Ilmington. Each runner will do 50KM.
This is a new event for 2027.
1st runners start is – 6:30am
2nd runner start on the arrival of first runner, or at 2:30pm if the first runner hasn’t arrived.
Marathon - 2 May 2027
A testing marathon distance trail route ticking off the best trail routes the Cotswolds has to offer. Starting and finishing from Ilmington, if you love running on trails like we do, or if you want to give trail running a go, then try tackling this. Whilst you will be guiding yourself, feed stations on route will keep you watered, fed and in good spirits. Total height gained on the route is 1,743ft.
Race start – 7:30am
Half Marathon - 2 May 2027
A fantastic trail route for half marathon lovers. Run, walk, crawl. Whatever it takes to take on 13.1 miles of beautiful trail routes in the Cotswolds. Starting and finishing from Ilmington. Total height gained on the route is 884ft.
Race start – 8:30am
10K - 2 May 2027
A 10K distance trail race from the beautiful village of Ilmington. Total height gained on the route is 731ft.
An ideal entry into giving trail races a go. The complete route will be signed with route markers to help show you the route.
