Stowmarket Scenic 7
The Stowmarket Striders Scenic 7 is a picturesque 7-mile road race in Suffolk. The course is relatively flat with a couple of undulations, starting at Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre and heading through Onehouse and Harleston, before returning along the same route. Prizes are awarded for overall male and female winners, veteran categories, and team awards. All finishers receive a memento. The event is open to competitors aged 16 or over on race day.
Race Details
- Distance: 7 miles
- Start Time: The race starts at 11:00am (course closes at 11:30am).
- Location: Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre, Stowmarket, Suffolk.
- Prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd male & female overall; veteran categories; team prizes (3 to score).
- Memento: For all finishers.
- Age Limit: 16 or over on race day.
- Course Accuracy: Certified (SEAA 23/219).
- Licence: UK Athletics road race licence number: TBC.
Warm Up & Start
The warm-up area is on the Stowmarket High School playing fields. Runners should assemble in the High School car park before the race and will be led to the start on Onehouse Road by marshals to minimize traffic disruption.
Venue Facilities
Changing rooms, toilets, and showers are available at Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre. The venue also offers a bar, cafe, and pool (additional fee may apply).
Important Information
- Audio Equipment: Use of audio equipment with earphones is not permitted.
- Poppy Appeal: A two-minute silence will be observed at 11:00am in the Leisure Centre to support the Poppy Appeal.
