The Stadtlauf Saarburg has a rich history, first held on July 6, 1991. It features one of the region's most attractive routes through the picturesque city center, attracting participants from near and far.
For over 20 years, the event included a 10km main race for ambitious runners and a shorter 5.3km Jedermannslauf (everyone's run) suitable for beginners. The start and finish were at the former bus station, with the course leading through the city center, the old town, along the Saar river, and up the Kruterberg.
The new original: Join us for the 11th edition on July 3, 2026! The international Stadtlauf Saarburg offers a fast course that concludes with the award ceremony on the Fruchtmarkt stage during the Saarburg Market Days.
The route winds through the city center, the historic old town, and along the Saar cycle path, offering beautiful views of the Saarburg "skyline." A short climb to Kunohof leads back into the city. The course consists of one lap for the 5.3km race and two laps for the 10km race.
Younger participants can start with the Bambinilauf (0.5km) and the Jugendlauf (1.8km).
