Schody až nahoru 2026
The Schody až nahoru will take place in Zbýšov on Sunday 20 September 2026. This event is the Czech Republic Championship in stair running for 2026.
The race involves climbing the stairs of the AZ Tower, the tallest building in the Czech Republic. Participants will climb 631 steps from the 1st floor to the 30th floor. An additional 64 metal steps lead to the very top of the tower, which can be ascended after the race.
Training: Tips and advice will be provided by elite stair runner Jindřich Schick. This training session is for registered participants with paid entry fees and will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 18:00 in front of the AZ Tower building in Brno.
Race Day Information (for 2025, likely similar for 2026):
- Start numbers can be picked up on the race day at the AZ Tower.
- On-site registration may be possible on race day.
- Interval starts will be used.
- Chips for timing will be provided before the start.
- Spectators will not have access to the race stairs or the top of the building.
- Participants can go to the top of the AZ Tower after finishing for a commemorative photo.
- Refreshments will be provided post-race.
Prizes: There are new bonuses for holders of new track records: 1,000 CZK in each category.
Course: Stairs within the AZ Tower (Pražákova 1008/69 Brno). Participants must use only their own strength. Elevator use is prohibited. Timing is done via electronic chip. The race consists of 631 steps to the finish line, with an optional 64 steps to the summit.
