Run And Ride Summer Solstice 6 Trail Run
From the people behind the Cannock Chase Trig Race and Scott Sports Dirty Dozen, we bring you a 10km evening trail run... The Summer Solstice 6 evening trail run.
What's the event all about?
A 10km trail run that takes in some of the high points around the Milford / Brocton area of Cannock Chase. You'll start by heading up from Milford Common to the Millennium Sundial. From that point it's down the hill then back up to the Glacial Boulder. Then you head across to the Trig point before a return to the Sundial and downhill to finish on Milford Common.
This is a trail run with a little difference.... We'll mark a basic route with arrows on the junctions but if you think you know a better route then you can run that. We'll publish a suggested route of the course (see map) whilst also making the GPX file available for download.
Pre Course Social Run
8th June / 6.30pm / Run And Ride (ST17 0UR) - We'll be holding a free pre course social run. Open to everybody, we'll take a steady run around our suggested route. No need to book. Just turn up.
We're organising this event not for profit but rather for fun. Any profits made from the event will be donated to Muscular Dystrophy.
We won't be giving out any medals for this event. Instead please join us afterwards in Barley Mow for a drink on us!

We'll be offering Adult/Jnr (14 / 39) and Vet (40+) event categories.

Arrival:
Please follow the signage or Postcode ST17 0UH for Milford. From there look for "Event Signage" for parking. Signing on will be at Run & Ride which will be open from 5.30pm. Parking costs just £1. We recommend that you arrive at this area at least 30 minutes before the start of the event. Spend some time and warm up before the start and make sure you wear suitable clothing for night time conditions. The start area can get quite windy so a windproof jacket and full length bottoms are recommended.
What To Wear For The Event:
Given the event is at night time and in the dark then the temperature could be a lot lower than normal. We'd recommend you plan for damp / chilly conditions. A long sleeved top and a thin windproof that you could remove if you become too hot. Avoid heavy fleece or cotton bottoms as these will just soak up any water and making running hard work. Trail shoes are recommended. The course will feature some technical trails which aren’t suitable from road running shoes.
Other Information:
Prize presentation will take place around 30 minutes after the 3rd placed runner from each category has crossed the line.
Full results will be available online from Thursday after the event. A link to these and the photos taken on the day will be posted on the Facebook page.
Race Numbers
We will not be sending out race numbers prior to the event. This helps us keep down the cost of the entry. Please arrive with enough time (we recommend at least 1hr before your event start) to sign on. Signing on will be open at 5.30pm (Inside Run And Ride) to g
