Round The Runway 5
Round The Runway 5 is a multi-terrain, five-mile race held around the footpaths and quiet lanes surrounding Manchester Airport Runway 2. The route passes through the Bollin Tunnel and uses a mix of trails and lanes near Wood Lane, Mobberley WA16 7NY.
All race proceeds are donated to charity; in 2026 the beneficiary is MNDA. The event is EA certified and the licence is pending. Entries are for ages 18 to 89 and the entry fee is listed at £14, with a £2 discount for UK Athletics members. Entries close 29 June 2026 and the event currently operates a waiting list; payment is taken only if a place is offered and accepted.
Parking near the start is limited. Organisers note that car sharing or travel by train to Mobberley is more convenient. Race numbers must be collected on the night at the start off Wood Lane; there is no option to collect from RNW this year.
Event materials include a Runner’s Guide, a GPX file of the route and a Strava map. Transfers are permitted online up to 24 hours before the race for a fee of £3. If the race is full, a cancellation up to seven days before will receive an 80% refund. Sponsors named include RunNorthWest and Owen House Wedding Barn.
