The Babble Ride Across Britain, taking place from the 7th to the 15th of September, is an unforgettable cycling experience, taking riders from Land's End in Cornwall to John O'Groats in the Highlands of Scotland. Experience 9 days of cycling, covering 980 miles, and take in some of the UK's most incredible scenery. Stage 1 Beginning at Land's End, riders will cover 105.7 miles to Okehampton Showground, tackling some challenging climbs. Highlights of this stage include Cornwall's coastline, St. Michael's Mount and the county's china clay pits. The route crosses the edge of Bodmin Moor and skirts around Dartmoor, heading into Devon. Stage 2 Riders will continue on from Okehampton to begin the second day of cycling, covering 113.9 miles to finish at Bath. You'll cross the Quantock Hills and tackle the spectacular climb at Cheddar Gorge. The route then winds through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bath. Stage 3 Stage 3 of the route heads from Bath to Ludlow Racecourse in Shropshire, covering a shorter distance of 93.9 miles. You'll skirt the South-Western flank of the Cotswolds before crossing the sweeping expanse of the Bristol Channel on the Severn Bridge. Highlights of this leg include Chepstow Castle and views of the River Wye. Stage 4 This 107.7 mile leg covers the distance between Ludlow and Haydock Park Racecourse in Merseyside. The route crosses the edge of the Stiperstones Hill before hitting the Shropshire and Cheshire plains around lunchtime. The ride then flattens out as the route passes between Manchester and Liverpool on the approach to Haydock Park. Stage 5 On Stage 5, riders will take on Shap Fell, the highest ascent of the whole ride, as they journey from Haydock Park to Carlisle. Over the 116.4 miles, you'll pass through Wigan and Preston, with views of the Pennines and Blackpool Tower. The route then pushes further north into the beautiful Lake District, where you'll tackle Shap Fell. Stage 6 Stage 6's route brings you into Scotland as you cycle the 107 miles from Carlisle to Hopetoun House, just outside of Edinburgh. There will be dramatic scenery of the Lowther Hills, the River Clyde and the Forth Railway Bridge. Stage 7 This 112.3 mile leg covers the distance between Hopetoun House and Bellabeg in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire. You'll start off your ride by crossing the Forth River Bridge, heading into the Grampian Mountains through the Cairngorms National Park. Highlights of this section include Glenshee and Braemar Castle. Stage 8 The penultimate leg of the ride spans 109.3 miles between Strathdon and Balblair in the Highlands. You'll tackle Lecht Hill at the start of the day and then continue on to Inverness and Dingwall before finishing at your final basecamp at the Kyle of Sutherland. Stage 9 The final day covers 104.1 miles from Balblair to the finish line in John O'Groats. This is one of the most impressive parts of the route, as you'll be able to enjoy amazing views of remote Scottish countryside.
