Provo City Half Marathon, 5K & Kids Marathon

- Half Marathon – 13.1 Miles
- 5k – 3.1 Miles
- Kids Marathon – 1.2 miles
Start Times:
- Half Marathon – 8:00 a.m.
- 5k – 9:30 a.m.
- Kids Marathon – 10:00 am
Packet Pickup: Pre-Race Packet Pickup will take place in Downtown Provo. Half Marathoners MUST pick up packets at Packet Pickup (no race day pickup). 5K Runners may pick up packets on race morning from 8:30 – 9:15 am @ 3470 N. University Ave, Provo.
Start/Finish Locations:
- Half Marathon: Starts at South Fork Park up Provo Canyon, ends downtown Provo at University Ave. and Center St.
- 5k: Starts at 3470 N. University Ave., finishes downtown Provo.
Transportation: Half Marathon runners MUST ride buses to the start line, departing from the Downtown Provo Compound from 5:30 am – 6:30 am. 5K runners can park near the start line; a shuttle bus will be available from the finish line.
Time Limit: Half Marathon and 5k courses close at 11:00 am.
Awards Ceremony: Approximately 11:00 a.m. for overall winners. Age category winners will receive medals after the race.
Awards and Prizes
Half Marathon: Overall winners (male & female) receive $150 (1st), $75 (2nd), $50 (3rd). Awards for top three in each age division. All finishers receive custom medals.
5k: Overall winners (male & female) receive $50. Awards for top three in each age division.
Age Divisions: 1-11, 12-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
Race Course Information
Aid Stations: Approximately 6 water/refill and aid stations on the Half Marathon course, 1 on the 5k course. Dasani water at the Finish Line.
Elevation: Half Marathon: Net elevation drop of approx. 900 feet. 5k: Net elevation drop of approx. 100 feet.
Parking: Half Marathon runners can park in Zions Bank, Utah County Government, or Nuskin parking structures, or west of the Post Office. 5k runners should park near the 5k start line.
Medical Support: Medical support at the Finish Line Compound and most aid stations. Massage therapy available at the Finish Line Compound.
Post-Race Refreshments: Available as permitted by health requirements, including food options and a finish line party with food, bounce houses, and face painting.
Portable Bathrooms: Available at Start/Finish and approx. every 3 miles on the Half Marathon course.
Timing Chips & Race Numbers: All official entrants receive a numbered bib with an attached timing chip.
Transfers/Refunds: Fees are non-refundable. Entry can be transferred to another runner or to a future Run13 event for a fee. Specific procedures via Active.com are outlined.
Pacers: Available for the Half Marathon course. Runners are asked to line up according to pace.
Strollers: Allowed, but runners with strollers should start towards the back.
Weather Policy: Race may be delayed or canceled due to severe weather (lightning, thunderstorms, heavy rain, etc.). No refunds in case of cancellation due to Acts of God; however, race medals and shirts will be provided. Safety is the top priority.
