Pendle Way In A Day 2027

The Pendle Way In A Day is a winter ultra trail event on the Pendle Way in East Lancashire, starting in Barley at the foot of Pendle. The route is waymarked and follows footpaths and bridleways across moorland and local countryside, passing villages such as Blacko, Barnoldswick, Earby, Laneshawbridge, Wycoller, Boulsworth Bottoms, Catlow Bottoms, Higham and Newchurch, and includes a climb up Pendle Hill. Organisers provide a full map, GPX files and written route instructions.
The event is open to both runners and walkers. Entrants must be at least 18 years old. As a winter event, participants are required to carry specific kit including full body waterproof cover, map, headtorch and spare batteries, compass, whistle, mug and a fully charged mobile phone; appropriate fell or trail footwear must be worn. Dogs are not permitted. Transfers of entry are allowed up to one month before the event. Checkpoint closure times and other operational details are provided by the organisers. An entry fee applies and a donation from the event will be made to local charitable causes.
Distances and ascent options:
- 45 miles (approx 68.8 km), 6100 ft ascent (1848 m)
- 30 miles (approx 46.5 km), 4500 ft ascent (1343 m)
Start Times:
45mile Walkers: 7am
45mile Runners: 8am
30mile all entrants: 10am
Cut off time: Overall cut off time at Finish is Midnight for all routes.
Kit required: Full body waterproof cover, map, headtorch & spare batteries, compass, whistle, mug and fully-charged mobile phone. Appropriate footwear (fell/trail) MUST be worn.
This is a tough challenge event in Winter weather conditions with some navigational ability required and an amount of climbing, therefore not suitable for beginners. Minimum entrant age 18 years old. No dogs allowed.
Transfers allowed up to 1 month before.
A donation from the event will be made to local charitable causes.
