Organiser's Description:
On 19th July 2026, East Essex Triathlon Club will once again be hosting the Osborne's Grays Triathlon. The race, now in its 26th year, is an ideal Triathlon for new and experienced Triathletes. The bike course around Grays and Orsett is relatively flat and the run course is around Blackshots park which is a traffic free course and is mostly flat but with one small rise at the start of each lap. This year, we are accepting entries for those who wish to do an Aquathlon (no bike leg) or an Aquabike (no run leg). If any of these options apply to you please ensure you select the appropriate box on the second page of the entry screens. Every year we see experienced athletes from across the Eastern region return to beat their previous times. We also see many novice triathletes, who choose the Grays Tri as their first or second race because of the friendly atmosphere and excellent organisation. All our marshals and organizers are triathletes and family members and they all know and understand what it’s like to compete in a triathlon for the first time – so they are all full of encouragement and friendly smiles as you complete the course. The event is a 'Sprint' Triathlon and comprises of: Swim: 400m (12 lengths of a 33m pool), Bike: 20k (Road course - *helmets are compulsory*), Run: 5k (grass & park trail). This event is open to Adult & Youth competitors (aged 15+ on 31st December 2026). Entry fee: £50 or £45 for the Aquathlon and Aquabike but £45 or £40 for the Aquathlon and Aquabike if you enter on or before the 31st January, 2026. Withdrawals will be accepted up to 14 days prior to the event with the entry fee refunded minus a £5 admin charge. Should you wish to withdrawal then please contact the event organiser at: [email protected]. If any of your personal details or swim time needs to change before the closure date of 5th July, 2026, then please either log into your Entry Central account (if you are an account holder), or contact the event organiser at: [email protected]. Registration will open from approx 6am on the morning of the race and the first person will start at 7am. A short trophy presentation will take place once all the competitors have finished the race and we have been able to compile the provisional results. Trophies will be forwarded on if you are unable to stay for the prize giving. Whilst we will award the trophies after the race, there may be challenges to those results which we will investigate before finalising the results, on this website, within 7 days. Provisional Results will be available online later the same day. Only people who are female sex at birth are eligible to compete in the Female category. All other individuals including transgender people are eligible to compete in the Open category. Responses to this question will enable event organisers to allocate competitors into the correct race category as required under the British Triathlon Transgender Policy effective 1 January 2023. This policy can be read here and provides more information regarding race categories and eligibility.
