Memorial Filip Vanhaecke
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the municipality of Ardooie will organize the Memorial Filip Vanhaecke for the second time during the "ommegangweekend". This is a commemorative run in memory of honorary citizen Filip Vanhaecke. Filip lives on in our hearts as a committed personality who inspired many with his enthusiasm and involvement. Run and honor his legacy in a sporting and connecting atmosphere.
Whether you are an experienced runner or want to enjoy a relaxed sporting moment with family and friends – there is something for everyone:
- Kidsrun – For primary school students. An accessible and fun challenge for our youngest athletes!
- NEW! Walk "wandel mee voor Filip" (2.5 km) – For those who wish to honor Filip at their own pace.
- Recreational Run (5 km) – Ideal for those who want to participate at their own pace and enjoy the unique atmosphere and course.
- Performance Run (10 km) – For driven runners aiming for a sporting challenge and pushing their limits.

Timing and Info
- Kids: All kids receive a sports drink, cookie, and a small gift. An extra prize is provided for the first 3 boys and girls per category.
- Walking Tour and Recreational Run: No rankings or prizes. Every participant receives a sports drink and a small souvenir.
- Performance Run: Every participant receives a sports drink and a beautiful souvenir upon return of the bib number. Gift voucher for the top 3 overall ladies/men. Natural prize for the top 3 per age category ladies/men + extra surprise package for every first runner per category.
