Maverick Cotswolds Trail 2027
The Maverick Cotswolds Trail is an off-road running event on Saturday 15 May 2027 based at Sudeley Castle in the northern Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Routes run across established trails and link sections of the Cotswold Way and Winchcombe Way, passing bridleways, ancient woodland, ridge lines and small villages.
Available route options:
- 50k Ultra, 50 km, +1495 m elevation
- Marathon, 42 km, +1175 m elevation
- Half Marathon, 23 km, +580 m elevation
- Middle, 11 km, +302 m elevation
- Short, 7 km, +97 m elevation
The course alternates runnable sections with steep climbs and fast descents. Outposts provide sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drink; the organiser aims to keep outposts cup free so participants should bring a cup or bottle. GPX files are provided for each route.
Facilities at the venue include free parking, fully marked and fully timed courses, online results, event photography, bag drop, food and drink availability and a metal finisher medal. Cutoff times apply for the Ultra and Marathon routes. The organiser strongly recommends not wearing headphones and specifies mandatory kit for longer routes, including a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, minimum 1 litre of water and basic emergency items.
