Leipziger Silberseelauf
The Leipziger Silberseelauf is a traditional running event in the southern part of Leipzig. The event is scheduled for May 13, 2027, starting at 4:00 PM.
Past Event Highlights (May 13, 2026)
The 2026 event saw the start of the Bambini run (under 8 years old) at 5:00 PM, with 12 children completing the 600-meter course and receiving finisher medals. The preparation was extensive, carried out by members of the 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig running group and club staff.
Despite challenging weather conditions with heavy rainfall, the start and finish were relocated behind the old grandstand. The main run (10km and 20km) commenced at 5:30 PM, with 122 participants in the 10km and 59 in the 20km. The 5km run, the most popular distance with 151 starters, began at 6:00 PM.
Overall, 365 participants finished across the various distances. The event was moderated by Andy Clauß, and the timing, results database, and certificate printing were handled by Time for Sports. Over 40 volunteers assisted with various roles.
