Leeds Country Way In A Day 100km
The Leeds Country Way In a Day 100km is a full circumnavigation of the city of Leeds via the local LCW footpaths. It is based on a very popular long distance walk of approx 100km / 62 miles which makes a complete circuit around the city of Leeds and visits many of the neighbouring villages, parks and nature reserves.
Dispite being less than 10km from the centre of Leeds The LCW is mainly rural with much to enjoy including extensive views to the West and North Yorkshire countrysideand follows public rights of way including footpaths, bridleways and minor lanes, with just a few short sections along roads.
TERRAIN
The Leeds Country Way is approximately 80% trail and 20% road / tarmac. Weather in the week leading up to the race can alter the underfoot conditions drastically.

08:00 - Race Start - For runners who wish to complete the race in 16 hours or less
Note: checkpoint opening times will be posted well in advance of race day. If you are faster than the posted times we recommend you change your start time.
ROUTE MARKINGS / NAVIGATION
LCW is waymarked with Owl plaques & signposts. No extra event markings will be put in place unless the route deviates from the official route. Mandatory GPX available to download. Runners are responsible for navigating the course correctly, we strongly recommend the use of the GPX.

FOOD
We will have plenty of water and a selection of cold snacks. Any additional nutrition should be carried or put in your drop bag.

You will be able leave a small non-returnable drop bag at Garforth and Woodkirk.

CREW / PACERS
Runners are allowed to be crewed at any point on the course provided they are courteous to local residents. No more than one pacers at a time allowed from the start. No muling (carrying runners bags etc). Crew recommended if doing your first 100km.
MINIMUM ENTRY CRITERIA
You have completed at least a 50km in the last year and are looking for your next challenge.
