Lakeland Trails at Leighton Hall
Stepping out of the Lake District to beautiful north Lancashire, the Lakeland Trails are taking you slightly out of the Lake District to bring you two fantastic new courses in and around the stunning Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape. This extraordinary place is famous for its amazing wildlife, stunning scenery, and superb trails. Nestled away and with stunning views of Morecambe Bay and beyond, the gentler trails around Leighton Hall are the perfect way to stretch your legs.
Courses
- Trail Run 10k: A flowing 10k run through farmland and reedbeds with a fast run to the finish in front of Leighton Hall. Age minimum: 16. Time limit: 2 hours.
- Trail 1/2 Marathon Challenge: A route further into the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Natural Beauty, with stunning views of the River Kent estuary and beyond to the Lake District. Perfect for enjoying the journey. No prizes awarded. Age minimum: 18. Time limit: 4 hours.
- Trail 1/2 Marathon Race: Similar route to the Challenge, but focused on faster completion and competition. Age minimum: 18. Time limit: 3 hours.
Information
Important Notes:
- Dogs are NOT allowed on the course or in the venue.
- In-ear headphones are not allowed; bone conduction headphones are permitted.
- Water stations will be provided, but cups are not supplied. Runners should carry water or bring a reusable cup.
- Parking is charged on site, with free parking for vehicles carrying four or more occupants. Vehicle size is limited to small vans or camper vans up to the size of a VW Transporter.
- The postcode for parking is LA5 9PS, but follow the signs for the exact entrance.
- Essential information is provided below; no safety briefing will be held.
- Volunteers are needed; check the volunteers' page for details.
- Car sharing is encouraged; a Facebook group is available to help arrange rides.
- Public transport or cycling to the event can earn a chance for a FREE entry.
