Ladybug Run for CDH Awareness 5K/10K
Join us for the 15th annual running of this unique and popular 5K/10K race on July 11, 2026! This stroller-friendly event takes runners on a scenic course through the open green spaces and forested paths along the Tualatin River in Tigard's Cook Park and neighboring areas, offering a fun and memorable experience for all participants.
Perks for Participants:
- All 5K and 10K finishers will receive a shirt, medal and a race packet filled with goodies to celebrate their accomplishment.
- Can’t join us in person? No problem! Sign up for the virtual race and run your own 5K or 10K course—anywhere, anytime. As a virtual participant, you’ll receive a race bib, a shirt, and a medal to commemorate your achievement.
- Want to run with friends? Organize a group virtual run, and we’ll promote it on our website so others can join you!
Race Day Details:
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, the start line will remain open for 15 minutes, allowing for a staggered start and plenty of space.
Why We Run:
The best part? Proceeds from this event benefit the Ladybug CDH Foundation, whose mission is to:
- Raise public awareness about Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), a potentially life-threatening birth defect affecting 1 in 2,500 children annually.
- Fund critical medical research.
- Provide direct support to families in the Pacific Northwest facing the challenges of CDH.
Survivor/Angel Signs:
We line the sidewalks at Cook Family Park with signs remembering and honoring Angels and Survivors. If you have a CDH Angel or Survivor you would like represented with a sign, please contact us at [email protected]. Send us a few sentences about their story and 2-3 photos. We'd love to be able to honor your CDH warrior.
