Kendal Castle Autumn Sprint Tri
Kendal Castle Autumn Sprint Tri is a sprint-distance triathlon based at Kendal Leisure Centre, Burton Road, LA9 7HX, with a route that passes Kendal Castle and nearby trails.
Distances:
- 400 m pool swim
- 18.7 km bike excluding 1400 m timed neutral zone
- 5 km off-road run via the old canal, woodland trails and grassy slopes
The sequence starts with a pool swim, followed by a transition to an out-and-back bike course that includes a timed neutral zone, and finishes with an off-road run that reaches the Castle ruins before returning to the leisure centre.
Entry is limited to 150 places. Minimum age to enter is 15 in the event year; anyone under 16 must provide written parental consent at registration on the day. Included for participants are chip timing, free parking, a medal and professional photographs.
Equipment requirements state a roadworthy bike is necessary; mountain bikes and hybrids are acceptable, and a recognised cycle helmet must be worn. Participants are expected to be medically sound; those with a history of illness or injury are advised to consult their GP beforehand.
