Irvine Sprint Triathlon (Triathlon Scotland National Sprint Distance Championships)
The Irvine Sprint Triathlon is organised by Ayrodynamic Triathlon Club and incorporates the 2026 Triathlon Scotland National Sprint Distance Championships. The event takes place on the Ayrshire coast and includes individual and relay team entries. Relay teams consist of three person teams with each member completing one discipline; teams may be single or mixed gender.
The event features a one lap open water swim in Shewalton pond, a two lap bike route to Irvine Beach Park, and a flat out and back run through Shewalton Woods. Swim starts are in waves by gender and estimated swim time and kayak safety cover is provided. The bike course is on fully open roads and competitors are required to follow the Highway Code. If water conditions force cancellation of the swim, the event may be held as a duathlon.
Additional event details include overall and age group prizes, an awards ceremony where the 2026 national sprint champions will be named, and a post race buffet provided by club members. National championship medals are awarded in five year age categories; medals require Triathlon Scotland membership to be eligible.
Participant information notes a minimum age rule as published and race operation under British Triathlon rules. Ayrodynamic Triathlon Club reserves the right to amend routes or format as local conditions prevail. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
