Go Fish 5K & Kids' Color Run
Started in 2012, the Go Fish 5k and Kids' Color Run had a goal of getting people off the couch and active. This includes active teens and adults, older individuals who would not traditionally consider participating in a 5k, as well as families. Entire families are encouraged to participate together, with awards going to the fastest individuals and fastest families.
Starting at 8am, there is a Kid's 1/2 mile Color run on the school grounds followed by a 5K Run/Walk on the Fox River Bike Path. To encourage families to participate there are plenty of activities post-race including games, face-painting and bouncy houses. The affiliated school PTA also hosts a pancake breakfast to encourage families to spend additional time together and in community. All proceeds benefit the Fish Food Pantry of Carpentersville, our local food pantry for families in need.
