Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K - Shreveport
Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with the "Gingerbread Lane" holiday race, a festive extravaganza set in the beautiful local parks and scenic greenbelts! This cheerful event offers distances for every runner: a 1-mile jaunt, a 5K adventure, and a 10K challenge. Little ones can join in the fun with the exciting "Kids Dash," a 50-meter sprint that will have the crowd roaring with cheers for these pint-sized racers. DJ Sasquatch will keep the energy high with a mix of holiday hits, and after you cross the finish line, treat yourself to delicious holiday cookies and a refreshing glass of milk. Every participant will receive a holiday-themed race shirt and a festive medal to commemorate their achievement. Get into the holiday spirit by donning your best festive attire for our holiday-themed costume contest, where you can win fabulous prizes for creativity and cheer. Gingerbread Lane Race Series Presents: The Ultimate Holiday Costume Contest!
Put on your most imaginative, whimsical, or downright outrageous holiday costumes and join us for a merry competition that promises laughter, joy, and a sprinkle of holiday magic. The winner will snag 2 FREE entries to any future Bigfoot Race, an epic trophy, and a holiday treats bucket.
Join in all the festivities you have come to expect from a Bigfoot Running Company event. Awesome medals, cool Tee's, high energy staff, 100% focus on participant experience, live awards, and the coveted Bigfoot Trophy. Snacks and refreshments will be available at the race rally tent. Our DJ will be playing all the hits and announcing every runner. All award winners will be announced and recognized for their accomplishments. Aid stations will be on the course to provide water and to assist should you have any concerns during your run. Our primary focus is to make your race fun, safe, and exciting. All finishers of all distances will receive a medal and shirt.

Race Distances Offered:
- Kids Dash - Approximately 50 meters. Designed for kids 10 and under. Not timed, includes a tee shirt, race medal, and exclusive Kids Dash recognition pin.
- 1 Mile - Designed for all ages and experience levels. Not chipped timed, includes a tee shirt and race medal.
- 5K - 3.11 miles. Chip timed with 1st overall trophies for male and female finishers, special recognition pins for 1st place male and female masters, and age group awards.
- 10K - 6.22 miles. Chip timed with 1st overall Bigfoot trophies for male and female finishers, special recognition pins for 1st place male and female masters, and age group awards.
Age Group Awards (5K & 10K):
Standard Age Group Awards for 5K & 10K include 1st overall M/F Trophy, 1st overall M/F Masters (40+) Special recognition award lanyard pin, and Gold, Silver, Bronze award pins for various age groups (10 and under up to 70+).
Event Schedule:
- 7:30-8:40am: Packet Pickup (ends 20 minutes before the race)
- 8:55am: Kids Dash (Meet at the Start Line)
- 9:00am: National Anthem and Race Start!
Results and Awards are live and available at the Registration tent immediately following your finish!
Volunteer Opportunities:
Various volunteer roles are available, including Course Monitor, Aid Station, Finish Line Helper, Turtle/Sweeper, Packet Pickup/Results, Floater, Lead Bike, and Bigfoot Mascot. Full Race Volunteers receive a Bigfoot race shirt, souvenir race medal, VIP race access, and a choice of a FREE race entry or a $20 pre-paid digital gift card.
Bigfoot races proceed rain, shine, hot or cold. Packet pickup is always offered for 1.5 hours before the event start time. Bigfoot Running Company races are typically held at parks and green belts, with mixed course surfaces including pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths.
