Ultra Wales 50
The Ultra Wales 50 is a challenging 51-mile trail and mountain race set in the stunning landscapes of southern Snowdonia, including Cadair Idris and Rhinog Fach. The race features 2,898m of ascent and takes place on Saturday, 20th June 2026. This marks the 7th edition of this event.
Runners will navigate through Coed-y-Brenin forest, past the Barmouth estuary, and explore challenging terrain. The event has a 20-hour cut-off time and includes six staffed checkpoints providing refreshments and medical support. Strict cut-off times are enforced at each checkpoint.
Entry is limited to 500 participants, with an entry fee of £119. Entrants must be at least 20 years old and have previously completed a marathon distance in an organised event. Pacers and support runners are not permitted, and no drop bags are allowed.
Mandatory kit includes a map, waterproofs, compass, whistle, base layer, water capacity, mobile phone, survival blanket, headtorch, secondary light, and a GPS tracker. Supporter access is restricted at certain checkpoints.
