Fun Run for Autism
The Fun Run for Autism takes place on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Gold Bar Park. The event supports the Centre for Autism Services Alberta and raises funds for programs and services for Autistic individuals across the lifespan. It is described as family friendly and focused on inclusion and community connection.
The event is not presented as a traditional race. Participants are encouraged to celebrate individuality by wearing costumes, capes, onesies, bright colours, or other attire that feels fun. The emphasis is on participation and expression rather than competition.
Participants may walk, run, or jog and complete the course at their own pace. Multiple distances are offered to accommodate different preferences:
- 2K
- 5K
- 10K
After the run, the program includes games, activities, food, and opportunities to connect with other attendees. The event welcomes families, friends, corporate teams, and individuals who wish to support the centre and take part in a community gathering. Join us for a joyful, high-energy morning at our Fun Run for Autism! Opening remarks will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the first run starting at 10:00 a.m. We encourage all participants to arrive early to allow plenty of time for check-in, registration, and getting settled before we kick off the day together.
Whether you’re joining us to run, jog, or walk, participants are welcome to complete the course at their own pace. With 2K, 5K, and 10K distances, the event welcomes everyone from families and casual walkers to seasoned runners. Whether you are coming with family, friends, coworkers, or on your own, everyone is encouraged to take part in a way that feels right for them.
After the run, the fun continues! Stick around to enjoy games, activities, food, and time to connect with our amazing community.
