Frauenlauf Jena 2026

About the race:
With the goal of motivating more women to exercise and awakening the joy of running together, only "happy women" could be observed in the Jenaer Paradies last year. More than 40 years after the first road race exclusively for women, the Jenaer Frauenlauf is also about positively changing women's lives through sport and conveying a sense of strength, self-confidence, and self-determination. The history of organized women's runs in German cities such as Berlin, Cologne, but also Dresden or Leipzig shows that more and more women are encouraged to participate in running each year. We can also confirm this development in Jena.

Registration: Online registration open from March 8, 2026 (International Women's Day) until September 8, 2026, 6 PM. Participation is possible from 12 years of age. Registration closes when the participation limit of 800 women is reached.

Route: 5 km, paved running paths in Jenaer Paradies. The route is also suitable for Walking / Nordic Walking and participants with strollers (please position yourself at the end of the field!). The route is suitable for inclusive participants.
Schedule:
- Monday + Tuesday 07.+08.09.: 4 PM-6 PM: Distribution of start documents and running shirt at progesund Jena, Engelplatz 8, 07743 Jena
- Wednesday 09.09.: 3:00 PM: Opening of registration office (distribution of start documents incl. late registrations)
- 4:20 PM: Musical warm-up & moderation at start/finish
- 4:30 PM-6:30 PM: Childcare (if registrations exist)
- 4:40 PM: Joint warm-up at start/finish with the Schott Tanzmäusen
- 4:45 PM: Greetings and information about the route and schedule
- 5:00 PM: Start Run
- 5:05 PM: Start Walking (ATTENTION! Due to the large number of walkers, they start 5 minutes later)
- From 5:20 PM: Finish line
- 6:30 PM: Award ceremonies and raffle
- From 6:00 PM-9:00 PM: Musical relaxation on the event grounds
Awards: 1st-3rd place overall, most original team name, oldest participant(s), raffle of attractive prizes, largest team, participation certificates to print online.
Running Shirt: A new running shirt is designed for each race in the current colors of the season. You can choose whether you want a current event shirt or a Frauenlauf shirt from previous events. The participation fees are independent of the shirt choice!
