About the Fischland-Darss-Zingst-Ultramarathon
The Fischland-Darss-Zingst-Ultramarathon (FDZU) is an annual running event held in Ribnitz-Damgarten, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The event is known for its challenging courses, including a 100 km race and an ultramarathon of 117.4 km, making it the longest natural experience run in the region.

- Registration: Opens July 1, 2025, and closes May 31, 2026. Registration is exclusively via Tollense Timing GmbH.
- Course Updates: The 117.4 km course has been updated and includes new sections from Dierhagen Ost to Dierhagen Strand and then to Dierhagen Dorf, with a new finish line in the stadium at Bodden in Ribnitz. This change adds approximately 2 km to the total distance. The 100 km course follows the original route with a finish directly in front of the Ostseehotel.
- Cut-Off Times: A cut-off time of 18:30 is introduced at the 100 km point for the 117.4 km race. The finish line for the 100 km race is at 19:30, and for the 117.4 km race, it is at 21:00. Participants finishing after these times will be marked as DNF (Did Not Finish).
- Requirements: A valid DUV (German Ultramarathon Association) medical certificate is required for participation.
- Environmental Protection: Reusable folding cups are mandatory equipment and provided to participants.
The FDZU has a rich history, partly following the original route of the Ostseestädtelauf, a significant ultramarathon series in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The event also celebrates traditions and aims to provide a unique experience for runners amidst natural landscapes.
