East Devon 8 Trigs 2026
East Devon 8 Trigs is a self navigation trail event held on 3 October 2026 with a base at Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club in Devon. The event is open to runners and walkers and permits solo entries or teams of two. GPS tracking is provided for participants.
Distances offered:
- 3 Trigs Half Marathon (approx 21 km)
- 6 Trigs Marathon (approx 42 km)
- 8 Trigs Ultramarathon (approx 53 km)
Routes are not waymarked, so a basic understanding of navigation is required. Suggested GPX routes will be available and the Ordnance Survey Explorer 115 map covers the whole area. Participants must stamp a card at each trigpoint to show they have visited each one.
All courses start at Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club and initially follow the South West Coast Path to West Down Beacon, then head inland across Woodbury Common. The half stays on the western side of the Otter Valley and returns after Woodbury trigpoint. The marathon and ultra cross the river Otter and climb to Beacon Hill; the ultra continues to Buckton Hill and Weston Cliff before returning via High Peak. Routes will be run in the reverse direction for 2026.
Onsite facilities at the event base include car parking, a bar, a cafe and hot showers.
